DESCRIPTION
The CentreFuse 14 Butt Fusion System uses centerline applied fusion force. It is able to fuse imperial, metric, and 4" DIPS polyolefin pipe, as well as all fittings, valves, tees, elbows, and pups. Using optional snap-in liners, this single unit can accommodate 1" through 4" pipe sizes for gas, water, and mining applications. It is lightweight, competitively priced, and functional to the operator. Both detachable, the operation handle and reaction handle can be arranged to permit fusion from either side of the joining assembly. The operation handle can be placed in numerous positions, allowing fusion to be completed in confined ditch space. Not only can fusion be done on either side of the machine, but fusion can be
performed either parallel or perpendicular to the pipeline, on or off the cart. Optional, pipe-leveling outriggers are designed to assist movement and support of pipe through the joining assembly and are mounted to the unit rather than the cart.
The independent locking mechanism on the joining assembly is semi-automatic and holds residual fusion force throughout the cool-down cycle. Symmetrical design allows the facer to be inserted into the joining assembly from either side and operated in either direction. The facer is narrow in width, lightweight, and balanced for easy one-hand operation. Its motor can be immobilized with an optional over-running clutch so motor brushes do not have to be removed during manual facing operation.
Thin design of the electric, 1,650 watt TD-3 heater encourages rapid heat-up. Superior, nonstick, coated heater plates are easily removed for maintenance. The cart is modular in design and has a wide base. Its front wheels rotate 360 degrees, and the front axle pivots for easy handling on uneven terrain. Wide, pneumatic tires increase the cart's mobility. All components may be integrated into a single unit for transport into and around the job site.
T. D. Williamson, Inc., is committed to providing you with the exact product to assist you in planning, budgeting, and meeting the specifications for your individual application needs:
-True centerline fusion force provides even loading around the circumference of the pipe ends to promote symmetrical bead formation
-Accommodates an impressive range of pipe sizes from 1" IPS through 4" DIPS and 25 mm through 110 mm
-Detachable handles can be arranged to permit fusion from
either side of the joining assembly
-Lightweight, symmetrical facing assembly allows mounting onto the joining assembly in either direction
-Lightweight, narrow-profile heater for easy one-hand operation

JOINING ASSEMBLY
The joining assembly is configured for 4" DIPS polyethylene pipe. Easy-to-use, snap-in liners reduce the clamping shells to accommodate 1" through 4" imperial and metric pipe sizes, as well as all fittings, valves, tees, elbows, and pups. Removable outriggers attach to the base of the joining assembly so it can operate on or off the cart. Fusion can be performed parallel or perpendicular to the pipeline while on the cart. The independent locking mechanism on the joining assembly is semi-automatic and holds residual fusion force throughout the cool-down
cycle without operator assistance. The versatility of the joining assembly allows in-ditch or confined operation. Both operation and reaction handles can be arranged to allow fusion from either side of the joining assembly. The
operation handle can be placed in numerous positions, allowing fusion to be done in confined ditch space. Clamping jaws and knobs are removable for easy access to in-ditch operation. Symmetrical design allows the facer to be locked onto the joining assembly from either side.
FACER ASSEMBLY
The symmetrical facing assembly allows mounting onto the clamping unit in either direction to allow for facing in confined ditch space. It locks securely to the joining assembly with a springloaded latch. Lightweight, it is balanced for easy one-hand operation. Manual facing is done with a 3/8" drive rachet and can be done while the motor is disengaged, without brush removal, with an optional overrunning clutch. Electrical facing is done with a 120 VAC, 7 AMP motor with a 20 foot cord.
HEATER ASSEMBLY
Standard to T. D. Williamson, Inc., is the TD-3, 1,650 watt electric heater assembly. It operates on 120 VAC and has adjustable temperature from 100° to 550° Farenheit.
The 20' cord is an added safety feature. The superior, non-stick, coated heater plates are easily removed for maintenance. The ultra-lightweight heater assembly comes
with an insulated bag housed in a portable frame. The thin design of the heater assembly encourages rapid heat-up.
CART ASSEMBLY
The joining assembly rests on a 4-wheel, highly maneuverable cart. Front wheels rotate 360 degrees along a front axle that pivots for uneven terrain. The tow handle is installed off center, permitting the cart to be pulled underneath the pipe. Wide, pneumatic tires increase mobility. Four-wheel design with wheel lock and open
frame construction, which allows shavings to fall through, complete the package. Its tough, black, electrically-bonded, epoxy finish looks great and provides added protection.
OUTRIGGER ASSEMBLY
Outriggers attach to the base of the joining assembly, rather than the cart, and allow for in-ditch pipe support. These allow for smooth and level handling of pipe.
